How to teach reading
Tailor your teaching to each child's needs
Children are all individuals with their own strengths and challenges. No program or method can possibly accommodate all of their individual needs without a great deal of adaptation.
Typically, the entire burden of adapting to the needs of children is put on the teacher. The good news is: we are here to help you.
Here is what we can do together:
Mastery Learning:
- Our products include beginning, ending, and progress monitoring assessments.
- The assessments are most often very short (less than one minute each).
- By assessing each child every week, you can know what each child needs and take full advantage of the built-in flexibility of our lessons.
- Because you know what each child needs, you can make the most of time you have to spend with individual children reinforcing skills and building understanding.

Flexible, adjustable lessons:
- Children
all learn at their own pace.
- Our
lessons introduce and practice concepts in a spiral. Children practice new skills over and over
again, each time building on what they know.
- For
students who are ready to advance, there are extension activities and higher
pieces of that concept.
- For
students who struggle, the repetition helps them to master the basic skills
before they move on.
- Weekly assessments ensure that each student is really learning the most important things.
