A language centered learning environment

Having an ideal language centered learning environment is one of the most important pieces in helping children be successful. It is very important to promote language use throughout the day. Whether you homeschool, have a regular school classroom, or any other type of classroom, the environment must be carefully considered and planned for.

Oral language should be taught and worked on throughout the day and through all different activities. We should work on language during math, science, reading, free-play, lunch-time, ok-basically I am saying all of the time. We need to make sure that the learning environment is set up in the most ideal way to encourage language interaction.

There are three areas that we want to focus on. Click on the links to find out more.
